SIMONA GALEOTTI was born in Turin, where she lives and works.

TURI RAPISARDA was born in Catania and lives and works between Piedmont and Sicily.

The artistic duo Simona Galeotti and Turi Rapisarda created the project "Stories of Spectres and Ghosts" in 2006.

The work came about as a result of a 2006 exhibition titled "Daimon" set up in the San Pietro in Vincoli cemetery in Turin, which was used in the 19th century for burials, outside the surrounding wall. The exhibition was dedicated to the souls of the place.

When the exhibition ended and the artists found themselves in this empty, timeless space, in a fantastical dimension, the idea arose to create a project that spoke of the invisible, of ghosts, of spectres.

By suspending the portraits in the space, they realized that people perceived them as suggestions. The viewer, through these realistic, almost kitschy images, was confronted with a fake ghost.
